Here's a quick story to kill some time. So I've been expecting a shipment of ammunition coming in the mail, and it was scheduled to be received on Monday. So when I got home from work Monday evening, a find a box on my door. It was the ammo I've been waiting for. I thought from the email UPS sent me, the package was supposed to be signed for by an adult, instead the guy leaves 750 rounds laying on the ground at my apartment complex. What a lame ass delivery guy, luckily none of the neighbooring kids got a hold of it. :eek4:

The signature required thing apparently drivers think its optional I've had ammo and C&R items left on my steps and in my driveway. Even when I'm home I've come outside to check my mail and see a box sitting next to my truck in the driveway fuckers dont even come upto the door.

unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be a very rare occurance. My ammo was left on my doorstep too - clearly labled.

probably the stores fault you ordered from. my guy never leaves items that need a signature.

Happened to me twice so far, both clearly required signature but were left sitting by the door. Even today our UPS guy was delivering a CD Player (in the manufacturers box) and he simply dropped it over the 5' fence instead of coming through the gate to put it by the door. It seems that the bad experiences with UPS far outnumber the good ones.

:werd: UPS always leave shit out in the open and if I recieve something damaged it usually came UPS too. FedEx is usually alot better, he'll knock and I've never gotten anything Fedex that looked like it fell off the back of the truck.

AS a ups guy, we cant driver release a package that requires a sig.. The shipper must check a box on the label when they print the label.. The diad wont let us do it.. Just because the box says ammo doesnt mean thats whats inside.. But we really dont care anyway.. its not our stuff..:)

Is it really that much of a danger if the kids did get it? It'd suck to have to file the insurance claim but...

No, you're not supposed to. UPS drivers OFTEN leave packages that require a signature without getting one.

Ordered some stereo equipment years ago, sticker on the box (UPS sticker) clearly stated "SIGNATURE REQUIRED"

I walked out of my house around noon to find it on my front steps.

I had my beretta neos shipped back to the factory (the day after I bought it, too )

A couple weeks later, beretta told me a replacement was on it's way to me. I heard a knock on the door, walked out to see a box on my porch, and the driver waving as he drove off.

It was a handgun in the box, that required a signature.

That's crazy. I'd call the local hub and speak to a supervisor. The driver's don't know the contents of the packages, just that they're ORM-D. They should still get a signature if the package requires a signature. The shipper pays extra for that service. So definitely, call and complain about this.

I've had the same thing happen to me 4 or 5 times. They don't even bother to ring the door bell or knock either, even with a car in the driveway. I just open the door and it's there.

i guess im the only person who has never really had an issue with UPS or FedEx.
ive received cases of ammo via UPS that looked just fine and handled with care and ive never had a driver leave boxes on my apartments doorstep. They always leave them at the front office if im not home. Hell, the UPS guy that delivered my ammo once showed up when i was just stepping out and i caught him as he was walkin to my door. He asked if i was receiving ammo, and said he is a gun buff as well. Had a springfield XD and whatnot and even goes to the same range i do in town.
My delivery experience has been good so far :fingers crossed:

Maybe I am lucky I live in a gated community :o Our UPS always has to call in. If not, they leave a tag saying they will try again.

Most of the damages that we get are from boxes that are not properly packed.. If it isnt jam packed with every space filled, it will end up crushed.. Also people are afraid to use tape too.. nothing like picking up a box and the bottom falls out. The product falls onto different conveyer belts and ends up all over the hub..
