its a caliber that most people know and can picture, even non gun people, so its a great comparison.

Is that 7.62 NATO (.308 win), or the 7.62x54?

If its .308, lemme know where you got it so I can get some :)

You can tell its 7.62x54R(rimmed) because of the rim of the case is larger than the body; a .308 is considered to be "rimless" because the rim is the same size as the head of the case and doesn't protrude out. Actually ever cartridge in the picture is rimmed now that I look at it.

With most Eastern Bloc ammo they only include 1 opener per crate, so if you order single cans they never send an opener with it, I always keep a few extra around.

And with that winning com-bloc logic, one of you guys is going to open a case of ammo one day only to find a case of openers some apparatchik was hoarding.

Yeah probably not the best logic, but anytime i get ammo from any of those countries always just one opener in the crate, would suck for there troops if they were were in a hurry to pass out the ammo and can only open one can at a time.

Yea, i kinda tore into the pakaging to get it open. Im storing it in a different container, so the shape of that one didnt matter.

how does everyone else get it open without a opener?

And its from The Sportsman's Guide. Great price 40 bucks shipped.

Is that a 12ga flare? Looks like a longer version of a USCG distress flare.
