    What exactly do these do? I've fixed some systems with "missing" CD drives and today got my iTunes to burn CDs again by deleting the UpperFilters & LowerFilters registry keys from

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Does anyone know what these keys do and what affect they have on CD drives working in certain programs or working at all? In the case of my computer, iTunes has been unable to burn a CD for months. Uninstalling/reinstalling/upgrading had no affect. Other programs on my system had no problem burning with either of my burners.
