Hey everyone, just picked up my first camera the other week and my tamron 17-55 just came in the other day, so finally got to mess around with the camera this afternoon..
This is my first time shooting with a dslr so I'm basically a 100% newbie...
I uploaded some of the pictures I took and was wondering if I can get critiques and tips. Also is flickr a good image host to be using? Thanks!

    Cliffs:
    -Just got a camera
    -First time shooting with it
    -Want some critiques and tips
(yes I suck at photo taking :o )
    -Mainly shot it at 1/25 F2.8 ISO100 I believe

Basically no composition or thought gone into the picture. Looks like you just picked up the camera, pointed, and went *click*!

the best way to learn is just to go out and do it. [in manual mode] do a couple of exercises that go through all the different controls: aperture, shutter speed, iso, focal length, vantage point and you'll learn how to control your camera better.

For the indoor shots you need to raise your iso and shutter speed. 1/25 is too slow for shooting people -- notice how most of the people are blurry?
