I have a 1911 knock-off from a cheap company, but I want to buy a Springfield 1911 in the near future. doesmoving up to a higher-class weapon really make that much of a difference?

So you shoot down to the left.. a more expensive gun will do the same thing.

    :mamoru:

With more expensive stuff you will get better materials and the gun will probably last longer, unless you get into the tacticool stuff.

You'll get a better lighter trigger, better sights, nicer grip safty, the finish will be nicer, and the list goes on.

Moving from a kia to a ford is probly a set down considering how cheaply American cars are made.

A better comparison would be like moving up from a Focus to a Mustang.

Or a Ford to a Chevy :mamoru:

Even my instructor fired and the bullet went slightly down and to the left of where he was aiming.

it isn't so much a matter of how often you use it, more of what you want from it. If you are happy with what you have then that's fine, but if you want a better quality product, then def upgrade. Esp if you plan to carry it, you don't want to risk getting yourself into a situation and then finding out that you get what you pay for.

A better weapon will make you happy you bought it and you will know when you fire it what you paid for, unless you are the type that doesn't really care what you are shooting as long as it goes bang. Accuracy is one thing, but mostly you are paying for cleanliness in build, reliability, fit and finish, and feel. Feel is one major thing that will improve your shooting even if the weapon itself is not capable of tighter groups than what you had.

If you are not at ease with the weapon you will shoot poorly regardless, that can be taken any number of ways and they are all true IMHO.
