Upgrading ram on a Mac Pro = 3 minutes, Mac Mini = 30

    Upgrading ram on an apple laptop, or a mac pro is like 2-3 minute job...

    just upgraded memory in my mac mini, and it's like fucking surgury :rofl:
    putty knife to pry the shit out of the case, then take 1/2 the computer apart to get to the ram...

    Johnathan Ives needs to make that shit easier :rofl:

    10 or less if you've done it before. Putty knife to pop it open. Unplug the speaker cable. 4 screws holding the DVD drive on top. Pop the hard drive cable and you're there. Install new RAM and reverse. 10 minutes tops.

    Pfft. 3-5 minute job is possible! Use a dremmel and just open the case up like a can.

    I'm not sure what this post means, but my point is started in my original post...
    the most powerful mac apple makes is the easiest thing in the world compared to the most basic of apple computers...

    its size. you have to make some compromises if you're jamming everything into a tiny little brick. but yeah they like to replace all the screws etc with hidden catches and thus make it a bit disposable.. i think they like that too :hs:
