A friend of the family wants to give her elderly mother a computer to check email with. As it happens, she has an iMac G3 laying around, but it's only got 96MB of RAM and it's running OSX 10.2.8. I'm going to upgrade it to 10.4 so it can run a reasonably new browser and email client, but what kind of memory does it take and how much can it hold?

Crucial says that some of the G3 series even goes up to 1GB. :eek3:

Don't buy from Crucial. They're really overpriced. MacSales.com has great prices and high quality RAM.

The RAM I just purchased for my G5 was $79.99 (vs. $79.97 on MacSales) + free shipping.
