I'm upgrading my processor on my computer and I had a couple questions.

I've got an MSI KT4V Mobo and I was wondering what the fastest Athlon XP it could handle is.. Also if I do said upgrade, will I need to buy new ram? I'm running a 1600+ right now with PC2100 I believe....

And my final question is, I've got a buddy willing to sell me his ATI 9200 128MB All in wonder video card for really cheap, is this card better than my 128mb Geforce 4 ti4200 ?

you need new ram. the 3200+ 400MHz is discontinued. the 333MHz chips need at least DDR333 (PC-2700), but I recommend that you get 400MHz if you're gonna spend the cash...

But at the point of needing a new chip and ram, you might as well splurge on a new mobo, and make it an A64.

I'd rather have the Ti4200 over the 9200.

Fastest AXP still in production that it can handle is the 3000+. Fastest AXP made that you can handle is the 3200+.

That is what i was gonna say :p

If you can save up the cash, I wouldn't bother upgrading an Athlon XP, get a 939 mobo with an AMD Athlon 64+ CPU.
