So I went to the Apple store, and they had refurbished items for sale. There was a 24" iMac for 1850, and that's 50 less than with my student discount. so i asked them how much it would cost to upgrade the ram from 1 GB to 2 GB. the first guy said "i think it's only like $30" then i said "I think it's more like 150, isnt it?" So he radios back to some guy and asked, and he replies "Actually, to upgrade the ram to 2 GB it'll be $600"....... WHAT?! because they cant take the old ram, so they have to give me the old ram and the new ram, and that together costs 600. how fucking stupid is that? I'll just order a new one online with 2 GB and pay 450 less

Sadly, yes, people are stupid and need to do some research.

Hell, it would be cheaper to get RAM at Best Buy and have Geek Squad install it than to get it from Apple.
