I am selling my old 256mb cards, and have someone asking if a PC2700 333mhz will work in a PC2100 266mhz laptop??

    Thanks!

I think it'll fit but I'd go to the manufacturer's web site and see what the specs call for. The faster memory won't run faster, but will only run at the bus speed of the board. You probably won't see any difference.

You can't use faster memory on a slower motherboard.

Well...you can, but it won't actually run faster. It will run at the same speed as the old RAM.

notebooks can be VERY sensitive to speed difference when most desktops don't care. I'd be careful.
