I don't have an old one, I was saying the new update made it worthy to buy one.

    We'll see

the new Apple TV seems more responsive while playing video while the menu's seems a little slower. I do have 110GB of stuff on it though.

can someone give me a brief summary what an apple tv does?

Allows you to play videos from iTunes you've purchased on your TV. Lets you play YouTube, music, and other crap on your TV. Like Front Row for your TV basically.

Interesting update, the old apple TV software made you choose weather to play local content (on the Apple TV HD) or stream from your itunes. The new software does both at the same time. I left iTunes open and all my movies that I hadn't sync'ed over, showed up.

    Pretty cool new feature.
