A friend of mine was installing a new hard drive into his computer, & then going to install an OS on it.

The computer also contained a fat 32 slave drive that had just files on it.

He was using cgates drive configuration tool & accidentally pushed the master boot record to his slave file drive & can no longer access files on it, because the os (xp) says it is not formatted.

Any ideas on how to save this drive with all his files on it.

Are you saying that the MBR of the salve drive got wiped? If so he still should be able to access the data from it. The MBR is only used durring booting and has nothing to do with accessing the drive once the OS is loaded.
