Cleaned the AR the other day and figured I'd take some pics with the new Magpul rail covers and Pmags.

I want to upgrade something worthwhile, but don't know what yet. I was thinking of ditching my cheap red-dot for something better that doesn't need to be constantly readjusted. I'd also like to figure out a way not to have to use the riser for the red-dot either, but without it, the dot is on top of the front site.

    What do you guys think?

Needs a better stock. If you want to upgrade the optic go eotech or acog, if your on a budget my hakko tacpoint holds its zero pretty good.

I'd love an acog.....but I don't want to spend $850+ on an optic for something I don't shoot that often. I was thinking about a stock also...I like the Magpul CTY and the LMT SOPMOD.

I loved my magpul 93 if I ever got an AR again I would put another magpul on it. You can get the EOTech for around $320ish I think, my tacpoint was like $60 and works pretty well, also had the mount to use one of my Kobras on the AR which worked well too.

Command Arms and Magpul make a good stock.....the command arms is very advanced, and you have to check out their website to get the full effect...

I would do a better optic and BUIS long before I changed the stock.

You don't need that riser, there is nothing wrong with having the dot on top of the front sight post.

DO NOT BUY CAA STOCKS! They are cheap plastic crap and will break... Go with a Magpul CTR, you will not be disappointed.

I had a $40 optic on my AR for over a year that help zero perfectly for over 10k shots. Despite what people say you do not need a $500 optic to enjoy shooting your AR or to shoot straight. And as far as BUIS 2 of my ARs don't have BUIS and I don't plan on putting them on. For range plinking who cares about BUIS but if I was going to into battle then I would have BUIS. But for now I just bring extra batteries :p.

I've seen plenty of cheap ones that work fine but in his post he said he has to constantly readjust.

Owning any weapon means that there is some tiny chance that you'll have to employ it in self-defense. That is why I think that every AR with an electronic sight, no matter what its intended use, needs a BUIS.

I had the CAA stock but ditched it for a CTR and couldn't be happier.
