I was going to post this a few hours ago when I read it.

They 'cleaned up' the tape and whatnot. I think its the right call.

You did miss a BIG detail. They're charging him with ATTEMPTED voluntary manslauter. The Airman is still alive.

he's still on paid admin leave and charged with attempted involuntary manslaughter.

some might argue about this but he did still serve 9 years as a deputy sheriff. they can't hang him out to dry completely by charging him with murder, even though that's what he did.

Also, he was a E-4, security forces cop. Not an officer - I guess its easier for the news to say officer instead of security forces

He hasn't been fired, he's still on leave. No agency will jump the gun and fire him before he gets convicted.

He was charged with ATTEMPTED manslaughter, lowering the criminal penalty.

He's been charged, NOT convicted. Juries are weird, especially in cali. Stay tuned.

I'd be more worried about the FBI's investigation and outcome of that.

    Nope. . .

That's why they don't fall under The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004.

And I ask cause I have been both.. and there is distinctly different training and considerations given to MP's then sworn law enforcement.
