For those who care, I'm still trying to contract with Army ROTC. I finally got put in the system as approved to contract, but now the scholarship funds are completely gone. When I contract, I lose financial support from my parents, so I need the scholarship to pay for college.

There are 2 options. First, I can contract now without the scholarship and hope one opens up before next semester. If it does, great, I get the money. If it doesn't, I get completely fucked and probably transfer. They are pretty confident one will open up. Second, I can sign up for a National Guard scholarship with guarantees me money now. Thing is I really do not want to go Guard, I want to go active.

Don't contract, use student loans (and parents financial support?), go to OCS and use SLRP to repay loans? win?

That's what I said. They have no more scholarship money.

And I have a job already to help pay for tuition, my schedule is stacked, but it's nowhere near enough money to pay tuition on my own.

    1) loan, SLRP
    2) tell parents you're done with ROTC & pull out of contracting. go to OCS when you graduate.

    that sucks mang

i'm surprised they didnt have more funds for you considering its the new fiscal year and what not.

over in the medical recruiting world, the scholarships are going bye bye very quickly, i wouldnt be surprised if all our dental scholarships (~120-140) in the army are used up by december. At least its not the navy where the geniuses give out scholarships even though they officially don't have funding so that means that anyone wanting a hpsp for dental school through the navy CAN'T get one for 2 years or so since this new year's (and next years) contracts were filled last year

 The whole system is fucked up.

My parents knew it was coming, just didn't know what exact date. I gave them a few days warning when I knew. All I will say is they do not support what I did.

As for the money, the scholarship isn't in the contract, but will be added in by the end of the semester.
