I'm not a big home audio buff. I'd much rather have a kickass theater room with a cool video setup and a modest audio system. :hs:

I had denon's 2 channel "audiophile" PMA-2000IVR intg amp for a while, it was like $1200 and it was just a preamp and amp, nothing fancy, and it was rated stereophile class D... pretty ghetto... It was clean, but didn't sound great by any means, not much better than my Nakamichi receiver :o Denon just doesn't make audiophile gear... Videophile? sure, its decent, but it is not the best. Just the best you will find at good guys/ best buy / 99% of box stores.

My new creek 5350se blows it out of the water, now that's a good small budget integrated preamp. class A, decent power, nice looks.

the beolab 5 has it's own amp in each speaker... but i don't trust b&o to make any good gear... that's the first speaker they've made that could be considered good audiophile gear, i'd have to hear it. I've heard a $300,000 dynaudio setup, and god damn was it better than real life.

    I don't do sony.
I'll probably buy another pioneer elite. The one I have now has been great.

pioneer elite is > sony ES imho... not great but they do the job good for a decent price.

you could just get a computer DVI kvm and use that i think... easier than plugging/unplugging cables...
