unlike us, why are most* people at your gym always the same size?

    i dont mean to start flames or anything. i mean i see results of some of you and its great. and it feels good to obtain that physique that you want so bad. but ive been at a new gym for maybe a year now. and since i joined i remember a few maybe 10-20 people id see all the time im there. and maybe 4 increased power/size. i know one for sure because i was chatting with him. but many individials seem to prefer to "maintain" the way they lift and look. ive seen the same person bench [email protected] for a yr and he is still same size. im happy they are motivated enough to goto the gym. but i mean........whatever im rambling on, if you know what i mean then thats good.... :wiggle:

    same routines and same weight. why would your body change if everything is consistent?

    I thought some college kids were worthless when it came to lifting but I saw old people in a fitness center and realized they were just doing it to feel good about themselves, or socialize... so sad.

    their diet sucks, and they pretend they just want to "maintain," when in actuality, they just don't have the dedication to their diet

    I am happy w/ my size and shape right now. I think w/ my current size I look the most proportional and my lifts are all strong enough for me to be content w/ them. There are parts of my body that I want to define more, but that is mostly a diet oriented task. Not to mention I have been on a cutting cycle since Jan to get really lean for SB, so no gains are gonna happen right now. I dont' know, I used to challenge myself to see how strong I could get. That lost its alure to me. I am decently strong, pretty strong if you want to compare strength to weight compared to most. I find that the challenge to get ripped is a lot harder for me than to build muscle. So right now, I just want to see how far I can go and how lean I can get.

    some just don't know better and don't care enough to look for info, or they do try and look for info and get it from shitty sources and don't know enough to realize how shitty the source is.

    For example, just look how popular men's health is

    they dont eat enough. i know many people who think that just by working out they will grow.

    I don't pay enough attention to people at the gym to realize whether they're getting bigger or not.

    People always tend to negate one part of the equation ie, weightlifting, eating right, sleeping right, drinking right, etc.

    I feel really bad for this one guy in his 40's who has been doing 135x10x3 on his bench for the last 6 months (maybe longer, that's how long I've observed him). And I never see him do ANY other exercise. In between sets he reads a newspaper for at least 5 minutes. :dunno:

    I agree that some people dont change because they don't eat right, but not everyone in the gym is a bodybuilder or trying to get jacked. Some people just want to exercise and don't give a shit if they don't get huge or really strong.
