well let me make this easier for you. You are a fucking moran and will never be good at CS. So stop wasting everyone's time and your parents money, and do something else.

doesn't suprise me. You've thrown four years away and didn't learn shit. You'll interview very well initially, then you'll get torn to shreads in the second/third interview and you won't get hired.

    sucks to be you.

I'll take a number two, with an orange soda. And no pickles, please.

Why exactly do you think I couldn't preform well? Is it really because I didn't know shell variables by heart?

i'd say it is more because you went through a full set of computer science classes and never learned how to use google. :p

but, to the rest, i went through computer science as well and i learned nothing about shell scripting. yeah, i went a few years ago, but all they focused on was programming (c++, java, etc). i learned all my shell scripting at work.

The fact that after 4 years in CS you would ask such a rtfm dumbfuck question.

You didn't learn how to find answers, so you are worthless as a computer scientist.

Wow. I don't know which is more depressing, someone about to graduate with a comp sci degree and not know $_, or someone that can't use google.

college wasn't about learning the information. It was about learning how to find it.

Someone that knows ABC in a technology field is useful today... but if they don't know how to find XYZ, they will be useless tomorrow.

have you ever seen a comp sci curriculum? when i got my degree, it was almost all programming and math. computer science is not really about how to use a computer, but how to program for it. really, all of the shell scripting i learned in school was just on my own trying to automate shit.

Unix Administration/Programming was offered as an elective (special topics) course at my university, but not required.
