Undercover officer shoots herself in foot http://toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090205/NEWS02/902050274 An undercover vice narcotics officer accidentally shot herself in the right foot yesterday while training at the Scott Park firing range, authorities said. Toledo Police Chief Mike Navarre said the officer was being treated at the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly the Medical College of Ohio, and he did not expect her to be admitted. The mishap occurred shortly after 2 p.m. The officer was using her standard service weapon, a .40-caliber Sig Sauer semiautomatic. Her identity will not be released because of her undercover status. The chief said the incident would be investigated by the police department’s training staff and firearms review board. He said the officer would return to duty as soon as she was medically able to do so.
