So, I know there are programs that exist that claim they can recover deleted photos, but how well do these work?

Meaning, Is there a way to restore photos that were deleted a year ago?

    :noes:
I know little about this sort of thing...well, nothing.

But things have been deleted off my computer in a years time that I wouldn't mind seeing again.
Has not been formated if that matters.

i've had pretty god success with getdataback

the key is to make sure that you grab the deleted file asap, if you overwrite it - your probably never going to get it

a year ago? not very likely you'll be able to recover much. unless you don't ever use the computer.

the way it works is when a computer deletes a file, it doesn't actually go to the location on the disk where the file is located, it just removes the link to it from the file table. Undelete programs will scan your unallocated disk areas for files, and attempt to recover them. Once it has been overwritten with another file, this is no longer possible.

So, after a year, it's highly doubtful you'll recover anything.
