Meh..... would still take a Lightning over it. I mean how often do I plan on doing 154.587 mph?
Either way, congrats to Dodge for taking the record.
Thats great news! It just solidfies the production of the 3rd gen Lightning. I'm curious to see what the top speed results are going to be with a benchmark of 147mph, with an extra 120-150hp increase, and an extra gear (6-speed). Drag co-efficient should also be very similiar to the 03.
don't like either of them I guess...
you'd figure i'd like a really powerful truck...
but for looks alone I'd take the Silverado SS over those two.
power wise, still hard to justify any of the three...
but what is the proposed hp of the new L with out the cool shot, thingie? cause with the way they run these tests to set the record, they may only get to use that shot thingie once or twice on each pass. and once they're running topspeed in 6th, they may allready be redlining, so they can't use it....just food for thought. I think the new L will be a good strait-liner (1/4) and a good handler, but as far as consistant top speed....dunno. we need some solid numbers from ford....till then....all speculation, and Dodge is sitting on the top of the hill.
You need 500hp to do 154mph?
Oops, 2 extra gears, over the auto with od.
The cool shot is on-demand, meaning press it when you need it. Can't remember how long it takes to charge up, so using it on the return might not be possible. The estimated 500hp is without the cool shot, but who knows what the production number will be.
The cool shot is supposed to recharge like after 45 seconds after you use it or something. I forgot.
I'd rather rock the F150.
i thought this was about hockey
What going happen when Black Light see this thread?
It's nice to have a 6 speed
Especially low ones with aftermarket rims
doesn't the dodge cost 10k more?
i hate the spoiler on pickup look.
The srt 10 looks like a fucking baby killer
and i love those rims
the dodge costs around 15k more.
Even with 500hp it still runs 13s stock
lightning is still the best fast truck. even if it is slower by tenths in stock form. but whats the fun of keeping something stock
from what an owner says on the delphi R/T forums, the reason for the low 1/4 times is because of serious traction issues, apparently that 505ft/lbs is hell on those stock tires, but slicks instantly drops it into the mid-low 12's with no other mods.
Ram SRT-10 + traction = teh win
Dodge is the new hotness.
