i had my new 1911 sent to a local FFL, one of the only ones that would accept private transfers. When I talked to them before i had the seller ship it, i asked them what needed to be included with the gun. they said just my contact info would be fine.

fast forward to today. they call me, tell me that they have my 1911 in, but cannot give it to me b/c the seller did not include a copy of their driver's license:ugh:

now that's fine and all, BUT TELL ME WHEN I ASK WHAT NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED!

ok, so then i ask if i can just have him fax it in, and they say Sure! so i write the seller an email including the fax number, and the shop's phone number. He faxes the copy, and then a different guy from the shop calls me and says "we don't accept faxed copies":ugh: :ugh:

so the seller had to mail a copy of his license, they should get it by the end of the week, and i get to pick up my 1911 next monday...gay.

cliffs: i'm continuing my search for a worthwhile FFL.

It took me a while to find a trustworthy ffl. The only thing that sucks is that they charge 40 bucks for a transfer.

  17. The ones here charge $75 and $55 :hs: Might as well buy from them. The prices are decent since most local guns have night sights but there's still 7% tax. I fondled a sigpro today. It's so fucking perfect :wackit:
    but $590 OTD :wtc:

they wanted him to sign, IN BLUE INK, his drivers license. and it had to be the original signature.

Are you sure you didn't get another idiot who thought you were talking about a different license? :big grin: That sucks, it took me a few times to find the ffl I like for transfers too.

I got raped worst. The seller sent out my pistol Wednesday 2nd day air (fedex wouldnt do next day for some reason he said). Ok thats fine, supost to arrive on Friday; so I come in Friday and told them I wanted to start a trasnfer for a pistol I received- they couldn't find it and said it should be 5-6 more days at earliest because they are shipped on rail. I though the guy was BSing me but the seller forgot the tracking number in his squad car- so I asked for it when I got back from the gun shop.

Turns out it was delivered at 12:20 and signed for; I went there way after 12:20- about 4 something. :madfawk: I went out for the weekend and went to the shop today. :madfawk: x 2. Shits closed on sundays and mondays!!

To top it off the seller said he forgot to include his Drivers License :madfawk: x3. I had him mail it out but he probably snail mailed it and will take 5-6 days. Hopefully I can start transfer before they receive his license.
