Found out a guy I've known for a couple of years here at work is an anti-gunner. He was walking by and noticed me surfing AR15.com, he asked me how many guns I had, and then proceeded to tell me that he thought there should be a limit on how many hand guns and long guns an individual could possess. :ugh: I "thought" this guy was cool, but alas, turns out I was sorely mistaken. Then he tried to tell me that the 2A protected the rights of state militias and not the individual. When I rebutted with what the 2nd actually said, he told me that it is up for interpretation. Then went on about the UKs policies etc...

They always bring up the militia thing. He has no idea what he's talking about.
It's like twisting words around in the Bible to mean something that you want it to mean.

Oh, and the UK's policies? What the fuck, does he want us to be a nanny/police state?

That's fine. I don't have a problem with it. He started in on me, I'm just disappointed, that's all.

I get people that argue MN carry laws with me too.
It's a pretty liberal state, but open carry is totally legal.
Most people don't know that, nor do they care. It's still their "right" to freak out and call the cops and use up unnecessary resources.

This was about kinda of a specific thing with the law in Texas... but basically it's legal to shoot someone for trespassing on your property at night, he didn't think it was, so I went and printed out the 3 laws that applied, the use of deadly force for "criminal mischief at night" law, the trespassing law that classifies it as criminal mischief, and then the definition of of trespassing according to texas, which is basically entering property (vehicles, houses, land) without permission...

Then he started argueing about implied permission, and the easements on your property by the street... WTF Seriously just shut up.

    LOL, I got ya.
I hate uneducated people that try to sound like they know what they are talking about.
If you don't really know, just say so. It's okay. But don't argue about it when you're wrong.

Some extreme right-wingers can be like this too though.
I try to have a good mixture of everything and try to understand a certain standpoint before developing an opinion.
Believing/arguing/voting a certain way just because ma and pa did, or do, doesn't fly with me.

And trust me, this is coming from a child of extremely religious right-wing parents. It's the Republicans or death, on everything. :ugh2:
No wonder I like Ron Paul. :bigthumb:

I have had many experiences like that. I offer to take them to the range, a few have taken me up on it and had a blast. Some will never accept that firearms are a necessary thing, I like to put them in a group I call "victims" and never speak to them again.

Next thing just ask him if he knows what a militia is. If he says yes then ask him how you're supposed to have one of the citizens can't own weapons.

I don't understand how these people forget that the Bill of Rights is a list of INDIVIDUAL rights and protections FROM the state. They are definitely NOT a description of powers the state has over you.

thats true too, they are the same way. just seems like more liberals are way far left then are right wingers, but they are definately out there. and im not voting for ron paul, its a wasted vote. he has absolutely no chance in hell at winning anything, even the primaries. ill vote for thompson if he runs, if not im just not going to vote.
