Do you guys know any calorie-free condiments or spices that I can use to make my foreman grilled chicken breast more exciting?:hs:

I have Mrs. Dash, seasoned salt, and fresh squeezed lemon. Also, I've already balanced out the macronutrients in the particular meal, so I don't want to have to re-adjust portions just to make up for condiment calories.

    Thanks in advance.

I've been stuck on mustard chicken lately; I make it with 2-4 T of dijon mustard and 2 T of splenda brown sugar, with a splash of apple cider vinegar. Spread on top of chicken, bake till done.

Greek seasoning works well with the foreman bc it wont burn like marinades will. There used to be a huge ass thread for chicken recipes in the archives, I think there was one for fish as well, go check it out each one of those threads were huge.

    Amen to that.

I have been making my own sauces lately.

My favorite is to add 1 tablespoon of low fat/low calorie mayo to 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce with some hot sauce added to taste. Slathering that all over the chicken and cooking it on my griddle. So good.

I use a buffalo sauce, that has almost no calories in it. Turns the chicken pink. Gives it a little spice. I also use Emeralds chicken rub. Tons of sodium doing this though. I use half a bottle of buffalo per 12 breast. That makes about .5g of fat per breast, but that is if it gets full absorbtion, which it never does.

    A very simple recipe:

Take a fork and poke some holes in the chicken. Put soy sauce on top, turn over and do the same. I let the chicken sit in the soy sauce for an hour or two so that it soaks it up and won't dry out on the foreman grill. Simple and tasty.

Cut it up with some steamed carrots, broccoli, mushrooms or whatever other veggies you like, and toss it around in a frying pan with some Fat Free Italian Dressing.

Quick, easy, almost no cal (only thing I'd watch is the sodium if that's something you check into) Italian Chicken Stirfry type thing.

all these recipes on this thread and the one linked sound really good, but are these mostly for people that are bulking? what if you're on a set caloric diet and trying to cut down, are all these garnishes and stuff bad for you if you're on a diet?

i usually cook my chicken (2 small breasts) in a frying pan with a tsp of olive oil, red pepper and garlic powder. with like a half cup of white rice usually. tastes good to me, kinda plain. i'd like to try some of these but some seem like they are adding a lot of fat and sodium and carbs. im not really watching the sodium, but i am watching calories, fat and carbs closely

Go with low calorie stuff then :dunno: not that hard. Read the nutrition labels on sauces carefully. I like adding worcestshire sauce, it's low cal; I've got chicken at home soaking in fat-free italian dressing.

I don't know about calorie free but on occassion I like to make some pico de gallo and pan fry the chicken with it.

For my ghetto version of pico de gallo I use a few roma tomatoes, garlic powder (too lazy to smash garlic cloves), 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice, cilantro, 1/3 cup of diced onion (usually a sweet yellow), and either 2 jalapenos or 1 jalapeno and 1 habenero. Chop all that up. Let it sit in the fridge for an hour so everything is nice and spicy (and not just the jalapenos).
