So I guess the ufc tv deal is currently in negotiations right now. Apparently dana is sorting out what he wants to schedule for spike and hbo.

I like spike for just being OG and hopping on board first, but they gotta get with it and launch the HD.

And hbo could do some shit by adding production value to the tuf show and we could actually hear all the F bombs dropped by dana. And most importantly, they already have an HD broadcast.

    Thoughts?

from a business point of view the hbo move works for the fans and the UFC. Fans don't have to deal with 5 minute commercial breaks on free events (UFC 70 was terrible, i am hoping 75 isn't the same) and the UFC gets $$$$$. Only downside for the fans is if you don't have HBO, but in all seriousness who doesn't have a friend who has HBO where you can go watch it?

I already have hbo for big love :hsugh: , boxing, real sports, and movies that I'm too lazy to rent, buy, or download.

i cant complain about commercials on spike because i dont need to hear endless ufc promo and/or joe rogan talk for 10 mins in between fights on ppv's. that is the equivalent to a commercial anyways :o

the problem though is they still throw that shit inbetween 5 minute commercial breaks. UFC 70 was ridiculous, with the amount and length of commercials. probably 40 minutes of fighting (if that) in a 4 hour broadcast.

I've gotten frustrated with the addition of more and more promo shit in each UFC. First it was just the clock sponsored by mickey's. Now it's 10 minute clips of a new movie coming out, and commercials like on TV. I paid 50 bucks for this thing. I don't want to have to watch a bunch of commercials on top of that.

Such a catch 22... I dont have HBO and would prefer not to shell out the extra cash when I am already paying for PPV's.....The opposite side of the coin is I sure would like to see the fights on my 56' Samsung 1080p in all their possible glory via HD........

I still would lean towards free on Spike tho

In either way :) don't care either way, i have DVR so commercials don't matter and already have HBO so whatever just so they don't go to showtime or cinemax lol cause i'm not buying any more fucking channels

and HBO was for Sopranos and boxing, too lazy to cancel since sopranos is gone, now i'm hooked on fucking big love, but i understand the above sopranos post, i'm sure many folks kept HBO only because of Sopranos and haven't gotten around to canceling

Yo you're missing out by not having showtime.

First it comes in HD if ya got Directv. Ill watch the stupidest bullshit as long as its in hd.

And more importantly, you gotta be watchin californication and Dexter. Best shows on premium cable.
