Dana didn't mention it, but I'm sure sometime soon the tractor will be a target.

Im not sure if this would even make a dent. If the PPVs were 30 bucks... the people who stream them would probably still prefer the stream

Faggotry. Yeah, lets compare a dude watching some shitty stream of a mediocre PPV at home to robbing a bank. Don't these faggots have enough money, do they really want more?

I think they really overstimate their revenue losses on this kind of shit.

Most people will just skip them instead of ponying up the money for two mediocre cards a month if they're no longer available online.

You'd think they'd have enough money from the ads splattered all over the canvas and pillars of the Octagon, during the fight announcements, Tales of the Tape, fight replays, but I guess there's never enough.

Fuck that shit. If the tracker goes down, another will emerge.

List of points from other threads I've been reading on the subject:

    1. The people watching a stream aren't going to pay if the stream is gone, they just won't watch it live.

    2. In regards to pirating and music, it seems studies have show that "pirates" are much more likely to purchase music

    2. If you pay $60 for content, you should get ALL of it, not just the fights they choose to show or have time to fit in their time slot

fuck that shit, they wont do shit to stop streaming. If the UFC didnt charge $50 for a shitty card, maybe that would help. I've bought alot of UFC ppvs in the past and really cant see myself buying any of the ones that have been put on as of late.

    1. They arent buying it already, so it wont fucking matter.

    2. Its a live event, arwe they going to buy the replay?

    3. When you pay for the ppv, you are only paying for the main card, the undercard fights they show are a bonus

Anyone that says "They already make a ton of money, why stop this" is a fucking retard. Let me come steal from you. Its cool though, you have plenty of stuff

I love it, the human mind can justify anything:

They put on cards too often
Some cards dont look good enough
They already make too much money
They dont let me watch the undercard
They cost too much, if you dont want me to steal it then make it cheaper
    blah blah blah

I wonder how many people justifying why streaming is ok also bitch and moan about fighters not getting paid enough. hypocritical, imo

I like how every time Goldberg reads the copyright threat, Rogan says "You can't stop the internet."

I like that too, but I suspect Rogan will keep his mouth shut next time if he likes his job.

It was widely agreed that UFC 108 should have been slapped on Spike or Vs.

those are 2 more good ones to add to the list.

its their business, they own it, they own the content and rites. I in no way think myself or others streaming fights is the fault of the UFC or do I harbor blame towards them for cracking down on people stealing their product.

good luck to them trying to stop pirating if the RIAA can't do shit about it

why not just put up a good quality stream and charge like $10. I sure as hell would pay for it then.

edit: guess they can't do that cause no one will pay for PPV then since you could just hook it up to a tv

By pretty much everybody, it seems.

    http://www.inentertainment.co.uk/20100103/ufc-108-attendance-results/

Even Dana white expected it to be below-average:

    http://www.411mania.com/MMA/news/12...o-Do-Between-400,000-and-500,000-PPV-Buys.htm

I'd like to see how many PPVs they actually sold.

See just because some asshole says it on the interwebs doesn't mean it's going to happen.

What's your point? Attendance was low, and, while numbers aren't available, the UFC President expected low PPV sales. That's a fairly strong indicator that people might have thought it was a below-par event.

So obviously they should give a product away for free because a bunch of assholes on the internet said so.

Maybe the UFC is doing something right by not listening to the keyboard warriors? They only made 300+ million last year on PPVs.

That's so weird, because I don't remember saying they should give anything away for free. Was I sleep-typing or something?

Yes, they make lots of money. That doesn't mean they're godlike and infallible.
