I have a feeling the PPV rates for the Ireland fight was shit. Just a guess. I can only assume they did this to expand audience on an event that would have lower PPV rates than they should have.
i am sure the 5 minute long commercial breaks every 5 minutes more then made up for it, or atleast made it somewhat near PPV revenue.
Not sure if it is true but I hear the PPV companies take half.
and if it didnt make up for it...the next time it surley will
Big ratings hugely popular demographic to market to theres gotta be some coin in it for the UFC.
Im sure they have some pretty smart marketing people there. Maby the loss in money now will be far surpassed by the extra PPV they will get later from new fans?

Hopefully this means we will get more big fights on Spike... Unless I am mistaken, I think the UFC renewed their contract w/ Spike for like $100 million... Forget the exact details though....
