how much you speculate they paid Hughes and Gracie.

My dad says being a UFC fighter isnt worth it. When I told him how much the last PPV paid fighters.

HE loves UFC/MMA now thanks to me.:wiggle:

Hughes probably got around 100-150k to show/ and same to win....plus his Xyience and other endorsements...he's doing quite well I imagine. Royce from what i know of, doesn't fight for less then 500k...so he's gettin' paid regardless if he wins or loses.

This is some funny shit guys, you think Dana came out of his normal payscale for this fight? your nutz! Hughes probably got at the MOST $75,000 for Fighting and $75,000 for winning.

TQ, your forgetting this is UFC, not Pride, NO WAY IN HELL Gracie got paid that much. Maybe, and I say again a BIG maybe, he got $300,000 for fighting. 1.4Mill is OBSURD! Dana is a tight ass with a great business plan, the cage is an idol that too many fighters want to fight in, he knows he can keep paying how he does because they will never walk away from him. TUF series, and all the new up and comers, yeah he has it made in the shade.

Gracie got about $1.3-1.5m for showing up. This was a one time deal that the UFC offered him to come back.

If Gracie got 1.4 mil, and the undercards still get >5k, UFC is going to turn to shit.

paying gracie a mil to come out and then get him interested in actually returning full time is a no brainer.

That's what I am saying. Gracie is worth good dough, will he really be back though? when it comes down to it, I doubt it. He is an ICON, do you realize that? It is like Joe Montana saying hey I am coming back to play. It is obsurd, he is a thing of the past and now lives his life as a legend. And yea, the pay scale range would be way too large to pay Hughes 300K and pay other fighters like Horn probably 15K at most.
I could be 100% wrong, which is the point of any debate, but I guess we will see when the figures are released. If I was a UFC fighter and there was that much varience I would be out of there for sure.

They're having Shamrock come back after a horrendous performance, so I think it's possible that Gracie will fight again.

Gracie is on contract with K1, UFC had to pay big bucks to get him to fight and had to shell out to K1 as well to allow him to fight on the card outside his contract. I think when the final numbers come out in both PPV buys and the gate it will be pretty obvious that the money was well worth it even if it was 1MIL +.
