its nothing HUGE to me. its just the way MMA cards should be.
Remember seeing cards like this?
Joachim Hansen vs. Jason Ireland
Frank Trigg vs. Kazuo Misaki
Travis Wiuff vs. James Lee
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Sokoudjou
Hayato Sakurai vs. Mac Danzig
Sergei Kharitonov vs. Michael Russow
Mauricio Rua vs. Alistair Overeem
Takanori Gomi vs. Nick Diaz
Wanderlei Silva vs. Dan Henderson
Or the Middleweight tournament card that had Cro Cop v Fedor, or the open weight GP cards...or any pride card for that matter
I actually enjoy the freak show fights too even though I know a lot of people here don't.
I had to re watch Zulu vs Minowaman again even though it was K-1. It was funny as hell watching him basically try to run away then run in with attacks. He has beat Giant Silva, Butterbean and Bob Sapp, so he can beat freaks.
every 2-3 months
Quality vs. quantity
But in due time with more exposure/up-and-comers develop more, UFC should be regularly putting on "big" shows.
pride had lots of stars from top to bottom of each card, but they also threw lots of cans at their stars (i.e. Wandy)
i think the UFC not having deeply star studded cards all the time helps develop more fighters. it deepens the pool of fighters by opening their doors wider
when i was a more casual fan, i liked that they threw cans at the stars. it made them seem even more dominant, which made it really interesting when the stars fought each other. plus you get some nice highlight reel material a lot of the time
The UFC needs to bring in the Brooklyn Brawler and the 123 Kid
I'll be there...leaving for Vegas tomorrow!
its funny because almost everyone in PRIDE you know who they are and they are a quality fighter.
i dont feel the same way on UFC.
freak show fights are awesome
