Very long, boring article, but it mentions it near the bottom.

    My thoughts:
Matching him up against another striker is smart and will provide for a good exciting fight. If he were to fight someone with any ground skill I have a feeling it wouldn't last very long and would suck.

Mark Hunt vs. Tyson would be amazing though. Iron fist + Iron chin = :bigthumb:

I really have no interest in a Tyson freak show.

I would give Tyson more credit then you are D. He is one of the best boxes our generation has ever seen and if he hadn't went a little loopy he would still be on top of his game. This type of fighting will be much better suited for him in my opinion. I think putting him up against another striker is going to prove he is one tough mofo on his feet. I think he has as good of a chance as anyone to deliver a heavy knock out.
And I agree with Drag, if he is a "real" fan I am sure he is working on his ground game as we speak.

Tyson is fighting a boxing match against an MMA star. The fight won't be MMA.

The Humongus, please reference extreme details like this. I just want to make sure what is being said is credible.

    Thx.

That's why it's being broadcast in the arena, Tyson won't be allowed to fight in Japan.

I want to know where the comment about 'boxing" rules came from, I can't find anything saying that they will be fighting under specific rules. If they fight boxing with they use boxing gloves too? I mean let's be a little more vague here haha.

i think it's awesome...not just because it's tyson too. a lot of times in K-1 well see what happens when a Boxer goes up against a Kickboxer in kickboxing rules. but i haven't seen a lot of situations where a kickboxer goes up against a boxer in boxing rules. I saw it one time with Ray Sefo vs some boxing chump...Sefo got KTFO in like a minute

How is this different from any other Tyson match? It has nothing to do with MMA.

Wow this interests me GREATLY as an MMA fan, to see someone that's been often-wondered about how he would do in MMA, to see him have a big televised match in an MMA organization... except it's a boxing match. Oh. Well then. That changes everything. *YAWN* way to drop the ball Pride.

Fortunately I didn't get my hopes up. I knew he would never do MMA.
