So I made myself a workout routine based on the sticky..... however my friend who has been working out for a long time and achieved good results modified it (almost completely changed it)
    Tell me what you think

    My modified routine

Can you give us some background?

Are you just starting out? What are your goals?

I am 5'10 and around 165 lbs (the machine at my gym says i have 8 something % body fat.. though i dont know how accurate it is)
no i am not just starting out but i never really had a workout routine that i have followed and pretty much only worked on my chest/arms/abs/shoulders..... i want to get my arms more cut, bigger back, bigger legs, overall just get more lean as well

it'll be hard to give your all for 5x5 on shoulder press with DBs. buy a barbell and bring it to the gym with you :dunno:

suggestion: ditch the apartment complex gym and get a membership at a real gym.

ability to use a squat rack alone is worth the monthly fee as long as you have the cash, especially since you want bigger legs.

the sad part it's not apartment complex gym... it's fitness usa :hsd:
i only pay 3 bucks a month for it.... (been a member over 2 years... special contract) so it's not that bad for the money

Then you are just starting out. Pick one, eat, rest, and you'll see gains.

Just go with his routine and go with him. Do your best to keep up with him.

alright well you could always do the 24 hour fitness thing where you pay 500ish for 3 years then between 25-50 a year for life after that.

a little more money for a lot more shit... squat racks (usually at least 2 from what I've seen), lots of equipment, lots of space... the one on Ocean Ave. is dope and there's fine ass wimmenz in there.

The only thing I don't like about it is their barbell plates are all edged off, so when you deadlift with them the bar will shift around when you set it down after a rep.

oh and as for the routine, try both for a couple weeks each. Stick to whichever you like best.

Also you should try a full body routine to see how you like it.
