    why would you want a ringflash before the macro? The tamron makes one hell of a portrait lens too. Tack sharp for almost anything. :bowdown:

    How does Tamron compare to Nikon 80-200 2.8 @ 90mm as portrait lens?

    wait a min, ringflash works with portraits too, no annoying shadows. this way i can use it right away the way i want to and not make excuses, well if i had the right lighting i would have got that shot...

    tamron is sharper.

    it's like electron microscope sharp.

    I just picked up a nikon 50mm f/1.4 for $175.. I'm cleaning up on craigslist! :wiggle:

    No, really bright day light outdoors..

    There was a breeze too, but get that shutter speed up and it doesn't really matter.. These are at 1/1000th.. :naughty:

    so you have to have an expensive light to convince yourself to buy a macro lens? makes no sense.

    Sounds like an excuse to me. :dunno:
