so, i have a tahoe that has a factory "sub" in the center console. i already have a one sub in the back, would there be any reason to replace the factory sub and box with a new sealed and or ported box?

what i'm asking is it worth the time and money to replace the factory sub and box with another setup?

    1 sub in the back

No, you'll throw the phase out. Use it in the back. Why not just run 2 subs in the back? Make sure it's in the same box. Never in separate boxes.

You could replace the front sub with something like a 6.5-8'' midbass driver. You would want to have a head unit with time allignment though as to not have phase delays and cancellation.
