    Hey Guys,
    I just got a 52inch LCD tv 1080p . The TV is approximately 84.5lbs.
I have a TV Wall Mount already but the box says that it can handle Tvs up to 80lbs.

Do you think that 4.5 extra pounds would make any difference? Should i not risk using it on the new lcd?

The wall mount is a sliding/tilting mount with an arm

is risking $1500 really worth it when you'd only save a few $ vs selling the old one and buying a proper one?

will the mount fail? not likely

Mounts are not designed so that when rated for 80lbs it fails at 81
    or 84 for that matter

But really, if you have the option of getting a stronger mount, why not.
If you upgrade in the future you will be guarantueed to have to get a new mount since the current tv is at the upper limit
