Who makes a good tuner card that includes decent software? Recording is not required. I've heard Hauppauge makes good cards but the reviews on Newegg say their software is shit. It just need a reliable, easy to use tuner app since XP Home doesn't have any of the media center stuff built in.

Hauppage PVR-250 is a good stand-alone card. Don't get the 150 as that will only work with MCE. Their software isn't great, but no one has good included software. Honestly MCE is the best bet for a good ui.

The 1600 is about the same price and includes a ATSC/QAM digital tuner as well as a standard analog tuner.

I have both in my HTPC. The NTSC tuner performance is identical. They use the same mpeg engine and tuner hardware, and are both made by Hauppauge.
