Alright guys. The video is not that great but more of a funny story behind it.

My mother in law drives around the country showing off the new Tundra in Home Depot parking lots and Tractor Supply Co. stores. Kind of what you see when at a car show and the spokesperson asks you to sign up here to test drive the truck and win a free hat/water bottle/etc.

This particular video is from when the group was at a tractor supply co. store in upstate NY.

This guy roles in with his 1/2 ton chevy (looks like a 1997 or earlier. 4x4 w/ I assume the 350) talking down on the Tundra marketers. He is spewing the traditional crap about the frame, jap truck, his [chevy] is from USA, etc.

He wants to do a truck pull with one of their Tundra's to show who has the better truck. Of course the marketers can't use their Tundra to do the pull (insurance, etc.), but at almost perfect timing another guy walks out of the tractor supply store and jumps into his new '08 Tundra.

    Thus....the truck pull begins.

This guy not only lost (of course, it's at least a 10 year old truck with about 100ft/lb less torque and 100hp less), but he busted something underneath the truck and it fell out as he rolled backwards. I never found out what fell. Keep in mind this story is coming from my mother in law who really doesn't know much about trucks.

the Tundra owner doesn't even say anything when he wins. he pulls back into a parking spot, and goes back into the store.

    enjoy.

Keep in mind I am a Chevy guy, but this is still funny as hell.

what is the point? Compared to NEW trucks from Ford/GM the Tundra design is weak and dated.

Congrats, you beat a vehicle over a decade older and about 1/5th the cost. Want a cookie?

lol. I was waiting for these responses.

the point of the story is that the guy in the old truck still thought he would win and was talking shit until he got his ass pulled backwards.

I understand it's not really a fair or apples to apples test, but that's kind of the funny point.

The point is the shit-talker got pwned most righteously.

I expect the Tundra had an automatic, though, that would give it a big advantage in a pull like this. It can slip the TC without burning it out; can't do that with a clutch.

Not really. The guy was a complete idiot. No question there. But it's like kicking the cripples ass after he talks shit -- you simply can't brag about that.

Okay, let's put it in a different perspective:
Older man talks shit to younger man, how he can kick the young guys ass. Young guy whoops the old guy. End of story.

Pretty damn sad if the only contest a tundra can win is against a 20 year old truck :mamoru:

It's the only contest anyone's put forth. Go round up brand-new top-of-the-line Tundras and Silverados and lets see who wins.

Ford DID do a round-up. The Chevy Silverado won. The Ford came a close second place. The Dodge came third. The Titan came forth. The Tundra came last.

It was pathetic. Gotta love that weak-ass frame! Look at that bed go side to side!

lol. this thread only proves potroasts inability to see a point being made that does not coincide with his thinking(yet again). its okay. I forgive you.

As I say again! The fool in the 10+ year old silverado could not fathom that a new toyota tundra could possibly out pull it in an amaturish competition. The guy got what was coming to him. End of story. Whichever way you spin it, the guy got punked.

That being said, I think we can all agree that the test was not really even, and given a proper opponent the results might have been different.

The point of this is that the retard in the Chevy got pwned. This story has nothing to do with the specific trucks at hand.

I would be laughing just as hard if a 1995 f-150 owner tried to punk a new silverado, they did a pull test, and the f-150 got his ass handed to him. It's only embarrasing to the guy who thought his 12 year old truck could out pull a new truck with another 100hp and lb/ft under the hood.

I think this has turned into the "I am potroast, my truck is shit, therefore I make fun of trucks I can't afford to drive, but I think I know what I'm talking about"
