so i finally chose the winner! [Tommy] this was an awesome fight, and it was definately worth the wait.

War Machine looked good at the beginning, but once it got to the ground Tommy took it to him.

i would've thought given his nickname, War Machine would've done better. but hey, it was still a good fight.

now, what's going to happen with semifinals fight?

i thought tommy tapped for a second early on with that choke, but i guess not.

glad to see tommy win, team hughes baby, team hughes lol.

fucking warmachine is such a gay nickname i couldn't help but hope he lost, most if not all nicknames are fucking stupid, i think if i had to have a nickname i'd choose my nickname to be "nicknames are for fags" but then again why whould i ever need a nickname, wait, what the fuck am i even talking about now, shit i'm tired, nevermind this shit, i'm going to sleep

Jesus fucking christ, did anyone see that welt in between tommy's eyes after the fight, during the interview? :bowrofl::bowrofl:

It looked like someone slipped a whole baseball under his skin, that was so fucked.

:noes: I wanna know wtf is going on for next episode though, if they can stick hughes' guys against each other, and Serra's "tough decision".

In all honesty, I originally thought the same. But after rewinding it and watching it several times. It really looks like he was just using some quick popping movements to try and loosen the choke.

Thanks again, bro-cop. I was watching my UK team get handled by Gardner Webb and missed the show for the 3rd straight week.

werd, he didn't even live up to the b.s. hype they gave him in his nickname. he looked like his head was somewhere else.

but yeah most of the nicknames are horrible. the only nickname i've ever had that's stuck was "Junior" since i'm the youngest in my family, and i have a young guys mentality in the fact that i pull a lot of practical jokes on friends and family.

War looked scared. I think he's fighting himself as much as fighting anyone else. You can tell he's got 0 self confidence, which is a huge must in a combat sport. Something about his personality reminds me of Evan Tanner. :dunno:

Tommy is a tough kid. His face looked BAD after the fight. I don't even know what he got hit with.

i don't know man, i saw his hand slapping repeatedly against war machine's forearm.

i think someone in serra's corner even yelled 'he tapped!'

    i love his nickname

he was awesome in the first round but going for that rnc for the entire fight took too much out of him. he should have had it. the fight would have been over quick if he was more knowledgeable.

i felt bad for him. he seems like such a nice guy.

I see what you are talking about but I dont think he was tapping. I believe if he was atleast War Machine would have mentioned it between rounds or something. If I felt someone tap and the ref didnt stop I would be raising hell, but maybe thats just me.

Furthermore, I dont think the blood had anything to do with Tommy getting out of the RNC. Its alot easier to get your arm in when somebody is bleeding or sweating like that. He didnt slip out or anything. He got out by prying War's second hand off and then he only had that one arm in and it wasnt enough to finish the choke.

On another sidenote this episode was pretty funny, IMO.

"You dont have ADD do ya?" and that damn Hughes impression had me going.

I thought I was the only one that felt bad for War Machine after the fight. He has some issues within and he knows it. After that second round I think he may have even said something about too much going on in his head. Seems like a nice guy to me but he needs to get his coconut straight.

I dunno, it didn't look like much of a choke escape. It looked more like an uncertain tap that he took back as soon as he started because he felt the choke loosen or whatever.

But that aside, I saw Tommy just overpowering the guy without anything really concrete to rely on. When he had the full mount, he just threw what looked like half-strength straights and looked lost on the ground aside from controlling and switching mounts.

I see him being a proficient fighter after more training but I don't see him winning the show with guys like Danzig and George to go against.

I think the blood saved Tommy big time, it would have been much easier to sink in that RNC if it wasn't so slippery.

have to give the guy credit, how many guys would panic in his situation:
    A. bleeding like crazy
    B. RNC
    C. combo of the 2

Tough angle, but you even see warmachine looking up at the ref as soon as it happened. Obviously whatever the intention of it was, it wasn't enough of a statement to stop the fight, and I give Tommy props for sticking through that brutal start to the fight.
