Somebody convince me why it's a good idea to either keep my A4 or get a TT.

Here's a link to the one I'm looking at.

My current car is a 2001 A4 1.8T Quattro Tiptronic.

    Pros of TT:
    Faster
    More fun to drive
    Lighter
    Fully optioned
    Lower Insurance

    Cons of TT:
    Less space
    Has a "gay" stigma (?)
    Manual can get tiresome

I think I could sell my current car for the same price this guy is asking for his TT and make an even swap. I currently owe about 17,800 on the A4, so I'd have to see if I could sell the car, pay for the TT with that money, and switch the loan over to the TT. I dunno if I can do that.

I don't know about you, but my credit union would not let me switch my loan to another car. I had to pay it off and then take out a new loan for the new car.

I like the A4 better. More room. More vesatile. Better styling. If you want a faster car why don't you save your money and mod your A4?

i assume since its the quattro that it has 225 instead of 170/180 hp. i love the TT & i'd make the switch. only if it was the 225 hp version tho

    It's a 2000, so no, it's the 185hp version.

Also, the insurance would go DOWN. I just checked. I think I'm gonna do this.

I'd be more considering with being done with the 20k loan than being out buying new cars. But if I had to decide, I'd probably go with the TT (since modding the A4 is both fruitless and expensive).

Sell A4, pay off loan, take out new loan for TT. I wonder if they'd lower my APR for paying off one loan already...

Since the year 2000, yes, it has been available as a 2001 model. The 2000 model TT was not available with a 225 bhp version.

    Need proof? Click me.

EDIT: Wait, where are you from? If you're from America, then what I said applies. It's different in other parts of the world.

    YOure pretty funny....

First off, that article was published January 1st, 1999... So you got an article that is virtually useless because of its uncertainty...This car wasnt even out in the markets yet, they were just going off speculations...

    HOw bout these?

2000 Audi TT Quattro Owners recall

ALso, we had to take it back in for the rear spoiler which was not given out for quattros in 2000...It was an option then audi changed it to standard....Guy in florida owning a 2000 Quattro

Someone Selling a used 2000 Quattro on Audi's Official Website

Alright man, ill let ya stop lookin like an ass....

Why dont you just go to the Audi dealership and save ur self the E-bashing...There is a 2000 Audi TT quattro...pretty plain and simple...Just ask them...Ill take pics of the engine with a penny pic then ill go to the door and get the date it was painted....

So truly, this is blasphemy i say

Do you even know what you're arguing anymore?

When did I say the TT wasn't Quattro in 2000? I'm saying it didn't have the 225 bhp 1.8T in 2000, which it didn't. Go to Audiworld and ask the same question and see what your response is.

...although that Cardomain TT is gorgeous...

Looks to me like the consensus is "get a TT, screw your auto A4"

    Am I right?

i'd stick with the A4. have you driven/sat in a TT?

it's kind of an akward driving position, and it's hard to see out the back. but, it's a cool car that turns heads. it's a toss up.

    i  A4s though :)

I like the driving position of the TT. I dont have much practice with a manual, so unfortunately I didn't drive his car...but it's comfortable to me.

    I just can't stand having a tiptronic. I really wish I had bought Wagz's car...:wtc:
