i had my moms old compaq presario 7360 lying around and it had some problems a while back and wouldnt work. I just took up putting it back together today, but when i power it up, i get the error NTLDR not present. (NT loader - hard drive?) when i go to the bios, the boot sequence has no option for boot from cd. it only has HD and floppy. what can i do to get maybe XP on this pc?

    well it sort of worked...
Ok so it goes to the 98 boot menu, i choose start with cd-rom support, with the 98 disc in the cd drive, it grinds, then it says starting your computer - may take a few minutes. diagnostic tools loaded to E. for help type help then it gives me an A:\> prompt and never loads from the cd-rom. if i restart with no floppy in and just the 98 cd it will give me the ntldr missing error again. i have already formatted the HD but now i just cant get it to boot from the cd-rom. :o

You boot with the 98 floppy and select "boot with cd-rom support" then when it gets to the A:\ prompt, read the top of the screen, and it should say what drive letter your cd-rom is.

change to the cdrom, and there is a setup program you can run.
