Hey, all. I'm trying to reinstall XP - I can boot from CD, but when I get the the setup screen (Where you can hit R to repair, F3 to exit, or enter to continue), I cannot proceed. I only have a USB keyboard - there is NO ps/2 port (i have a dell dimension 9100). what can I do?

    Press enter?

Actually, I don't know. Did your computer come with a recovery CD? How about going to the manufacturer's web site and see what they have to say. Or maybe the motherboard maker.

Thought you meant you don't have ps2 keyboard.

Check your BIOS settings, there should be a setting that allows for
    Legacy or DOS USB mode
