I couldn't find very many bag related posts, or at least didn't feel like sifting through them.

Can you guys suggest any multipurpose bags? I'll most likely be using it daily as either a laptop bag (15"), to carry a change of clothes, binders/paperwork, or even a range bag. I definitely want organization, so either a ton of pockets, or even MOLLE/PALS. I'm trying to keep the bag below $75.

    I'm currently thinking about:

    The Maratac Range Bag

    Maratac BOB

    or 5.11 MPC

The Range bag would be ideal, but at 7" wide, I think it might be too wide to carry regularly. Who knows though, I could get used to it. Anybody have experience/suggestions?

I would keep a BOB as a separate bag, not daily use. It should stay pre-packed and ready to go.

And I'd prefer a backpack, not carry handle style like what you've shown.
Aside from wanting my hands free, I'd imagine handholding a bag for hours on the move would be a real drag.

It won't be used as a BOB per se, I just used it as a broad term as most BOBs are usually well-made, spacious, and have toons of organization/pockets. I like pockets.

After looking at video reviews on the MPC, I'm actually thinking about asking for the MPC and the Countycomm small BOB, just so I have two separate bags that are good at each task, as opposed to sacrificing needs for each purpose to have one bag.

It would cost the same as the Maratac Range bag too.

    whats the maxi falcon 2?

and I can take some. has a ton of pockets. granted you get what you pay for, but I don't even use it for a BOB. I take it with me for hunting, traveling, etc. thing has held up great. Maybe I can get some pics for you tomorrow. It is rather big too, if you're wondering.

i can tell just by looking at it and the molle straps that this thing is probably 2x as deep as that.

zippers have never caused an issue with me so far. i know on some of the reviews on CTD, people have said they have had issues. I haven't.

Fabric is standard, probably not AS thick as some mil stuff, but its not thin by any means. I have some of their other stuff and i've strapped and unstrapped molle gear to it, trying different combos, and i've had no issues with the stitching. and as far as a load, last week for hunting I packed the thing to the gills for 9 days. filled every fucking pocket as full as it would go and then some. had a hard time even zipping the main part closed (has separate areas, as well as those hold-down straps on the inside that you would see in a suitcase for clothes I would assume and holding them in place)

If I don't get pictures tomorrow, I'll get them this weekend for sure, because I have to actually clean out my gun area, says Mrs. Dpixel8 :mamoru:

I'll put some items next to/inside it so you can see the scale and such.

How much weight do you think you'd want to put into it?

probably no more than 15-20lbs max. haven't weighed my range bag, but that'd be about my guesstimate.

    Thanks!!

oh fuck, if that's it, you'd have PLENTY of room. I think I had it loaded up with about 30-40 lbs of clothes, rope, couple carabiners, ammo, and various other hunting shit

    good shit.

Was going to use my Mountain Hardware backpack, but that's my daily, and I don't want to keep shifting my gear every time.

part of what I like about this is the amount of pockets, as well as how it's almost square in shape. also has a really solid handle at the top, and an insert (I take it out usually) that is a rigid plastic that goes into a slot in the back. Assume to give it more rigidity, but I don't need it. The padding for the shoulder straps is crazy comfortable too.

I'll really try and remember to get some pictures for you. :h5:

I also have this one from Diplomat.

I used to carry my DSLR in there along with a camcorder and sometimes a netbook. Now since I have a dedicated netbook/DSLR bag, I'm going to fill this bag with some bug out on the go stuff for two days worth.

To be honest, with all these chinese companies copying each other, I would not be surprised if they were all made in the same place, which rips off some major brand like maxpedition.
