First, a little background: I got my ears pierced about 10 months ago. 3 weeks after I got them pierced I went from 18ga to 16ga. I then made a VERY stupid decision to go to 8ga a week later. They bled... and I took extra good care of them (cleaning, sea salt soaks) until they seemed healthy again. Over the next 4 or so months I climbed my way to 2ga and kept that until May 21st. I took them out then and left them out for a couple of weeks. They seemed like they shrank a little bit, but not much (maybe to 4ga). I decided that 8ga didn't look too bad so I put those in and have been wearing them up until tonight. Currently it seems that they are at 6ga or between 6 and 8ga. I think they may be as small as they can go, but I haven't given up all hope. Is there anything I can do to help them, or did I fuck myself over by gauging up too fast? Any help will be appreciated. I'm hoping to be able to at least get back to a 14ga. I've been told that by putting smaller, dangling earings it will help the lobe to shrink up? Fact or myth? Would more sea salt soaks help?
