That leaf and rocks are distracting to me. The upper left corner is a bit off..... I like the over all attempt though.

I'd probably use a larger DOF. It could look better, not sure.

Should have cleared up the ground a bit too, the bits are distracting.

Not rad....you have a knack for picking uninteresting subjects. If you are looking for pretty colors you should take a picture of the reflection of a lcd monitor in a cd.

colors are vivid, and i agree more dof would be appreciated.

again, i feel this is part of a series and is not so powerful on its own. there's really no subject more than its graphic nature. if i had to stretch it i could observe a juxtaposition of vivid colors and curved lines to dull colors and straight lines, but it's quite shallow and carries no meaning. texture seems to play an important role, but it's hard to capture texture and have it stand on its own as a single image and not part of a series.

  9. i wouldn't have gone for a macro though...

Ok, so general idea = More dof, and colours aren't enough to make a picture.

You know, this is the first time I've really -wanted- to improve. o_O I never really wanted to think about my photography; I just wanted to snap a million shots and pick out the ones that looked kinda cool to me.

So thank you for the honest crits; you're inspiring me to keep trying!
