make sure your volume is up, then open a term and type this [hint Command-C & Command-V]
    Code:
osascript -e 'say "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII" using "Cellos"'

.sh should be how to save script. I also believe if you're just using terminal to achieve this you can just write "say -v chellos "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII"". And it would have the same effect. Also you can simply write "say -v [your fav voice]" then anything you type followed by a "return" afterwards will be read.

    for more options 'man say'

    BTW CTRL+C to quit.

Oh and if you're cheap and have a book in a text file you can also write:

    say -v victoria -o "book.aiff" -f "filename.txt"

and you'd basically have "book on tape" read by your computer for your iPod..
