Actually it would be for an established website. Guess I should have clarified that.

Are you looking specifically for the domain appraisal or the whole sites value? The domain alone wouldn't be worth nearly as much as the complete site obviously but the only reason the domain would have much value is because of the built in traffic/pr.

If you want to know the value of the site you could always just do the 10xmontly revenue formula that so many think is the basis. Or you could just put it up for auction on sitepoint or something with a really high reserve so you get bids but don't have to sell if it's not high enough for you. Best way to find the value is get actual bids...it's worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it ;)

Then yeah, put up an auction on sitepoint with a hefty reserve you would feel comfortable with. The bids should give you an idea what the going rate would be. Who knows, might find a great offer as well lol ;).

Traffic seems to be the best selling point there. Of course revenue helps but they all think they can monetize anything better than it is as long as they have traffic so they look for traffic sites.

cost $10-20 to list a site for a month but that's cheaper than any 3rd party appraisal and is probably more accurate because you get real people telling you what they would pay which is what really matters.
