Thinking about getting some [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]TRUGLO TRITIUM / FIBER OPTIC for the Glock 19. What does OT WMD think of these? Anyone have them?

Tritium and fiber optic sights are two different things.

    Get tritium.

What would you recommend? The same Trijicon ones that everyone has?

I have the Tru-glow sights on my Glock 22 and they are AWSOME. During day trips to the range, the sights come in very bright and easy to sight-in... And at night, they glow very well and makes aiming in dim situations very easy -- especially when I've practiced with me being in cover and the subject being in light. Very pleased with them.

I still like my Meprolights, the white outline makes them easy to see in daylight, and they work great at night as well.

I have the TFOs. They were pretty cool at first, but after only probably a year, the rear have dimmed quite a bit. You can still see them, but not a whole lot. I might have just got a bum set though :dunno:

if you read any of the defensive guides to it was brought up that you don't want insanely bright sights.. it's supposed to be just enough for visibility.

When I went to a local range there was a tactical class trainer there and we started talking about things. I mentioned something along the line of what you are saying and he told me a way to practice.

He told me to get a few feet away from a solid white wall and (either standing or sitting) draw. Once you have the gun almost all the way up, he told me to begin focusing my eyes on the front sight and your perephiral vision will do the rest. He told me to practice about 10 minutes every night. You will eventually train your eyes.

haven't been practicing alot, but I tried it a few times and I got what he was saying and it made sense.

same things goes for training to focus at night

just throwing that out there as an fyi...something different

What is the gun going to be used for? If it is a defensive gun, I would recommend XS 24/7 sights. Very fast target acquisition and accurate enough out to 25 yards or so.

If you will be plinking and want tight groups mepros are pretty damn nice.

    Incorrect
Truglo makes sights that combine both. (TFO)
I have them in my duty weapon and I like them a lot.
If I had it to do over again, I would have gotten the ones that have a different color for the front sight.

Thanks for the input every one. Looks like everyone has a different opinion. Weapon will be used for the range and back up- back up SHTF scenario

I have TFOs on my USP. There were no issues with fit.

    I like them.
