Just picked these up last night for $140 with the intention of scrapping. Can't decide if its worth trying to get the 750 running, or just start tearing shit apart now.

    V.I.N. #: JS1GN72A L
    ENGINE PREFIX: N705

    MODEL CODE: 19C

    Orange one:

    1989 GSX750FK
    V.I.N. #: JS1GR78A K
    ENGINE PREFIX: R712
    ENGINE TYPE: 748cc 4 Strk. 4 Cyl.

What the hell, I'd be all over both of them to make a slick streetfighter out of one and a sport tourer out of the other.

what tire sizes do they use? how much for a front end (triples, forks, wheel, brakes, clipons, etc - everything in other words, preferably the one with risers though) and a rear wheel, shipped to CA (93422)?

edit: err, i was thinking you were in FL for some reason

I could come pick the stuff up :)

hey man, when you see this could you reply to my PM? due to the 2nd accident I was in it won't be this weekend, but I'm still interested in the front end and rear wheel off one of those. I'm happy to pay more for those than you did for each bike, too.

Hit me up when you're local. I've been super lazy and haven't really done much to them yet. I'll PM you my cell.

I'll be making the trip down there largely to pick up the parts - it won't happen until I have some new parts for the GS, but a week and a half from now would most likely work (pretty sure I'll have it running again by then).

I can certainly do the disassembly myself if needed, although you'll want something to put them down on of course.

Where are you? I'd most likely be heading down to a friend's place in SD in order to install the parts and get my jetting set up right, but getting the parts there might be a bit of a PITA on a bike.

How are the tires on the bikes? ie brand/model/age if you're willing to check.

    thanks

I have a buddy who can, but for $300. They both have 30k miles, and it just doesn't seem worth the effort.

Hey whats the deal with them running? Is it most likely a carb issue or are we talking internals messed up here?

They both turn over fine, I just haven't put any effort into it. Carb slides are free and everything. Whatever is keeping it from firing is electrical.

I've been spending most of my time on the 240 on blocks behind them.
