I know it's old now, but I just saw it on ppv and all I gotta say is  . It was ALOT better than I'd hoped. If you like movies with big battle scenes like LOTR or Braveheart then this is for you. It was so good that I asked a friend of mine to rent it and burn it for me for 5 bucks. Gotta see Alexander next.

DON'T see Alexander. Everyone I know who has seen it said that it sucked the big one...

My two favorite movies are Gladiator and Troy. I walked out of Alexander. Alexander is by far the worst movie i've ever seen, and the battle scenes suck.

I think the fight scene between Hector and Achilles is the best fight scene since Jesus vs Romans in Passion of the Christ.

I thought Troy was HILARIOUS. Probably not what they were going for. It was definitely entertaining, but mostly because it was just so ridiculous.

yeah i really liked that fight scene, but i hated the passion of the christ so i might compare it to something different.

i really liked that they showed that achilles wasn't actually immortal, he was just the best fighter and the heel thing was just a lucky shot. it just seemed like they showed that the gods didn't have any role at all, and i liked that.

i thought Troy was OK. it definitely did not follow the Legends. good blockbuster movie, poor movie for the collection.

i liked Achilles fighting style. definitely very smart.

I bought Troy and thought it was really good...but a little on the long side. It definitely motivated me to watch Gladiator the next day.

Troy was great. I had a hard time comprehending the quantity of ships they brought over. And if you watch the extras, they actually cut it down to have as much. Couldn't justify a boat every 20 feet.

Just finished watching Troy. Decent movie although it strayed from the Iliad in several different places.

Achilles' battle against Hector was epic.

    Rediculous how?

I thought it was pretty good, and did a good job of walking the line between the myth of the original epic and suspension of disbelief. It would have sucked if they had made Achilles mother a goddess.

Even still, they strayed from the poem in some key ways that I didn't really like. Overall, I think it was an excellent movie.

That's the way I am. I found Troy to be boring.

I also liked both Troy and Gladiator. I liked them both because they both have protagonists (Maximus and Hector) who maintain their integrity and do the right thing despite facing imminent death. I find that inspiring.

gladiator is ok, but Russell Crow's a pompous ass. troy was good, even if it was just a chance for the American public to pay to watch Brad Pitt. I walked out of alexander, SO damned long...
