Ever since my first catilage piercing, I have had trouble with them healing.

I clean them thoroughly and follow the instructions on how to care for them (I'm not a noob to piercings.)

Currently, I have 2 healed cartilage piercings and 1 seemingly infected one. The infected one is directly above (about a quarter of an inch) a healed one. But it refuses to heal. Those are a little over a year old.

I also have my nipples pierced. These are about 8 months old. They still puss up frequently and the rings get crusty.

I've tried salt water soaks, and a plethora of healing agents (recommended by the piercer). I'm currently using H2Ocean, and its the only one thats giving me a little bit of relief.

Does anyone have any suggestions, short of going on anitbiotics? My nipples are liveable (except for the nasty crusties) but the ear is painful, and I get what looks like a keloid on it (probably just Hypertrophic scarring).

I need help. I want everything to be healed up by the time I get married next may. I don't want an ugly purple bump on my ear :wtc:

the ones in my boobs are :hs:

but since they're doing better than my ear, maybe i should try that there too.

weird thing is, all of my other piercings are fine (very old lobe piercings) and they healed very quickly.

if its on the top of your ear, id think your hair/sweat/shampoo/conditioner is responsiable for it not healing

and your nipples might be healed, crusties are just part of the experience sometimes, my ears are horrid if i dont clean em every day or so

You said in your first post that it's infected. It probably isn't and its probably just a irritated. Is it a ring? If so the diameter may be too small and it could be 'squishing' the fistula of your piercing. Try switching to a titanium barbell with 1-2mm of space on each side of the piercing. That may heal it up faster.

yes, its a ring and it looks like it has plenty of space. it hangs loosely on my cartilage. but i have plenty of spare barbells... its going to look silly, but i'll do just about anything now to make it heal up.

i'm pretty sure it is infected though, because I keep getting blood and puss coming out of it. god its gross.
