I've got a Bogen model 3021 legs (older version from what I'm seeing sold today). I have a ball head, model 3265, which works, but is starting to slack off a bit. In landscape, it works great (well, as long as I don't put a long heavy lens on it and tilt it more than a few degrees up/down). In portrait, it is a bit useless as it slips, regardless of the lens mounted.

I was out shooting today and someone I had met looked to be using the model 322RC2. It seemed to be pretty nice. What would you guys recommend?

if you like the pistol grips, the 322 is a good head...

I'm a much bigger fan of the ball head's, so the 486RC2/488RC2 would be my first choice.

I ended up with the 488RC2. I appreciate the info/feedback (and model numbers). I looked into the differences of the 484, 486, and the 488 and the 488 looks like it will be a good fit for me.
